Just over a year ago, we launched an ambitious project with Blue Banana: implementing RFID technology throughout its entire logistics chain . It required facing significant challenges, a huge learning curve, and total coordination between teams. Today, that commitment has materialized into an operational transformation that is improving both internal efficiency and the customer experience.

On June 12th, we publicly shared this success story at the event organized by STC - The Source Tagging Company at the Cotton House Hotel in Barcelona: “Democratization of RFID: The Blue Banana Case” , accompanied by great allies who have made this project possible, such as Shopify, Kyubi System, Storelink and Zebra Technologies.

How did Blue Banana make it possible?

The key has been implementing RFID in all phases of the product lifecycle. From the outset, all Blue Banana garments are RFID-tagged at the source , allowing them to be uniquely identified, as if each garment had its own ID. This guarantees complete control throughout the entire logistics chain and ensures that each shipment arrives at the store perfectly traced and 100% verified .

In-store processes such as receipts, transfers between stores, item location, and inventory are automated thanks to the combination of these tags, RFID readers, and Cixxonia RFID software .

At the point of sale , technology has also marked a turning point: the barcode is a thing of the past. Now, payment is automatic, without the need for direct vision, and multiple items can be scanned at once by simply hovering over the idPOS.

Finally, store security has also evolved: the latest generation of anti-theft antennas (either the idPOS ceiling model or the idGate Pro pedestals) offer a detection rate of over 95% . This enables the activation of smart alarms , which provide real-time information on which specific item has been stolen. The result: a shift from an unknown loss to a controlled and traceable loss.

And the best part: all of this is fully integrated with Blue Banana's systems (ERP and POS), creating a complete and true RFID ecosystem.

A project with real impact. These are some of the most notable results:

  • 97% inventory accuracy , with an upward trend. Furthermore, the team now clearly understands the source of inventory discrepancies.

  • Automatic inventory, receipts, and collections in record time. Processes that once took hours are now completed in minutes , allowing staff to focus more time on what's truly important: the customer.

  • Improved shopping experience: fewer out-of-stocks, up to 50% less lead time , and more personalized service.

  • Strong team relationships. We've built a partnership with Blue Banana based on trust and mutual learning.

  • Significant reduction in theft and losses, both internal and external
