Every Product Has a Story: Introducing STC SecondLife

STC SecondLife segona vida etiquetes rígides anti furt

At STC Retail, we are developing the STC SecondLife project, an initiative focused on giving anti-theft hard tags a second life through a sustainable reuse process.

The project aims to develop and validate, through a pilot programme, a post-consumer collection process for anti-theft hard tags used on textile products in retail stores. Once recovered, these tags will be processed and reused in the manufacturing of new products within our portfolio, allowing them to re-enter the market and extend their useful life.

By transforming used security devices into valuable raw materials, STC SecondLife supports a more sustainable retail model while reducing waste and promoting the principles of the circular economy.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is STC SecondLife?

STC SecondLife is an initiative developed by STC Retail to give anti-theft hard tags a second life through collection, reuse and recycling processes. The project promotes sustainability by reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of retail security devices.

How does STC SecondLife contribute to sustainability?

STC SecondLife supports the circular economy by recovering post-consumer anti-theft hard tags and reusing their materials to manufacture new products. This reduces waste, lowers the demand for virgin raw materials and minimises the environmental impact of retail security solutions.

What are the benefits of reusing anti-theft hard tags?

Reusing anti-theft hard tags helps retailers reduce waste, optimise resources and support more sustainable business practices. It also extends the lifespan of security products and contributes to a more circular retail ecosystem.

Which products are included in the STC SecondLife project?

The project focuses on anti-theft hard tags used on textile products. These tags are collected after use, processed through a validated reuse system and incorporated into the production of new products within STC's portfolio.

Why is the circular economy important for retail?

The circular economy helps retailers reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and lower their environmental footprint. Initiatives like STC SecondLife demonstrate how retail security products can be recovered, reused and reintroduced into the market instead of becoming waste.
